Egypt advances Monorail link to Capital
Egypt began operating a new phase of the Monorail Project on Saturday to enhance connectivity between Nasr City in eastern Cairo and the New Administrative Capital, also east of Cairo. The goal is to facilitate and organize transportation between Greater Cairo and the new capital. The project includes six stations in the second phase and has a total length of 100 kilometers, with a capacity to serve up to 600,000 passengers daily once completed. The aim is to support economic development, reduce congestion and traffic jams, and strengthen social and tourism links between the areas, despite criticisms regarding the high ticket prices.
