US Sends Experimental Ebola Treatment to Africa
The United States is dispatching an experimental treatment for the Ebola virus to the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Uganda. This includes doses of the laboratory-approvened drug MBP134, as well as the distribution of 2,500 rapid diagnostic tests to aid in early detection of cases. These efforts are part of the response to contain the Bundibugyo strain, which currently lacks approved vaccines or treatments.
