Damascus bomb blast death toll climbs
An explosive device went off inside a café in downtown Damascus, resulting in the death of 9 people and injuring 20 others. This is the deadliest attack since the bombing targeting a church last year, which caused 25 fatalities. Authorities confirmed that the explosion was caused by a bomb planted inside the café, located on a busy street near the Palace of Justice. The incident has drawn international condemnation and calls for those responsible to be brought to justice. This attack poses a new security challenge for the Syrian government amidst ongoing threats from ISIS.
