Global call for Sudan ceasefire

International entities, including the United States, France, Germany, the United Kingdom, the African Union, and the European Union, have called for an immediate ceasefire in Sudan and the reaching of a permanent agreement, based on the "Quadruple Mechanism" roadmap. This includes halting escalation, achieving a three-month ceasefire to allow humanitarian aid delivery and address the ongoing humanitarian crisis affecting nearly two-thirds of the population, with over 33 million people in urgent need of assistance. The international parties also emphasized the importance of respecting the commitments of the Jeddah Agreement, protecting civilians and infrastructure, pressuring the conflicting parties to cease fighting, facilitating the entry of humanitarian aid, and supporting political dialogue efforts between military and civilian actors to end the conflict and achieve lasting stability in the country.
