UNICEF Reports Over 3.6M Sudanese Children Malnourished
Sudan is facing a severe health crisis, with over 3.6 million children under the age of five suffering from malnutrition. It is projected that approximately 825,000 of these children will experience severe acute malnutrition, representing one of the biggest health threats to their survival. UNICEF has pointed out that malnutrition affects children's growth and impairs their educational abilities. This situation is worsened by rising rates of anemia and malnutrition caused by war, with children making up about 48% of the population, half of whom suffer from health problems related to nutrition. The success of the national nutrition plan depends on a decline in the number of affected children in the coming years.
