Jordan Labor Minister urged to resign over conflict
Jordanian Prime Minister Jafar Hassan requested that Minister of Labor Khaled Bakkar resign due to a conflict of interest related to government tenders in which the minister's son was involved with a company. Legal measures were put in place to halt the tenders. Although the decision delegated the minister's responsibilities elsewhere, his resignation was not officially accepted by King Abdullah II, who holds constitutional authority over such matters. This move follows previous disagreements between the minister and the prime minister, primarily centered on Bakkar's stance regarding certain laws and political factions. These tensions have led to an escalation within the government and the parliament.
