Hamburg, Germany, witnessed a massive Pride march attended by over 300,000 people in response to heightened security threats after a deadly attack targeted a similar event in Berlin last week. The march was held to celebrate LGBTQ+ rights and to demonstrate solidarity and defend these rights, despite the tense atmosphere within the community following the attack. As a result, the number of police officers assigned to protect the event was doubled compared to last year. The event featured activities involving politicians and public figures, with an emphasis on the importance of showing a clear stance of solidarity despite the prevailing sadness within the community. Similar events also took place in other cities like Amsterdam and Bonn, where officials emphasized that security measures would be more stringent to ensure the safety of participants.
