Chinese Cotton Association criticizes US labor actions
A Chinese manufacturing association expressed its strong opposition to the United States' decision to include 43 Chinese companies, including cotton textile firms, on the "Entity List under the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act." The association confirmed that American claims regarding "forced labor" lack a factual and legal basis, noting that China's cotton industry employs automated and advanced processes throughout all stages of production and strictly respects workers' rights. It emphasized that the American move ignores facts and aims to politicize human rights issues, expressing confidence in China's cotton industry's ability to overcome the challenges posed by external pressures. The association also warned that sanctions would undermine global supply chains and harm the legitimate interests of Chinese companies.
