Iran declines to restart talks despite Trump's optimism
The article discusses the efforts of the United States and Iran to establish a mechanism for managing the Strait of Hormuz amidst escalating tensions between the two sides. The spokesperson for the Iranian Foreign Ministry confirmed that Iran is not presently engaged in negotiations with America, but rather with Oman to establish a temporary navigation route that ensures the sovereign rights of both countries, without linking it to the reopening of the strait. On the other hand, Iran rejected Trump's statements regarding potential negotiations and considered that the United States has violated its commitments under previous agreements, reinforcing the absence of any substantial changes in the status of the strait.
