Mohamed Salah's number 61 jersey at Trabzonspor
The Egyptian star Mohamed Salah wore Trabzonspor's jersey with the number "61" during his first appearance with the Turkish club. This number symbolizes the city of Trabzon and its local identity, expressing pride among the fans and the club’s deep roots. This debut was a message of respect for the city, whose supporters celebrate by entering the 61st minute of every match. The number has become a symbol of football resistance, representing Trabzonspor's achievement of winning the Turkish league title outside the control of Istanbul-based clubs. The number "61" goes beyond administrative symbolism to become a badge of pride and a symbol of connection between the fans and the club, reflecting the city’s significance in Turkish football history. The official jersey number Salah will wear in matches will be announced later, but initially choosing "61" serves as a strong gesture representing the city and its supporters.
