On Wednesday morning, Israeli forces carried out a broad security operation in Qalandiya Refugee Camp north of Jerusalem, including raids, arrests, and intensive deployment in the camp's neighborhoods. The forces announced the start of an operation targeting what they described as "terrorist elements," and warned against using live ammunition against anyone attempting to target civilians or security forces. The troops also stormed the headquarters of the Popular Committee, assaulted a journalist, and implemented measures to prevent prayers in the camp's mosques. These operations come following directives from the Israeli Defense Minister to expand operations in West Bank camps, as part of Israeli efforts to increase control over Palestinian areas, following previous attacks on Jenin, Tulkarm, and Nour Shams camps over the past years.
