Jordan discusses Jerusalem as Safadi warns of potential religious conflict
Jordan hosted a meeting of the foreign ministers of the Arab countries members of the ministerial committee tasked with confronting Israeli policies in occupied Jerusalem. The meeting aimed to discuss Israel’s escalating measures against the city and its Islamic and Christian holy sites. The countries, led by Jordan, affirmed that Israeli policies such as settlement construction and imposing threats on Jerusalemites are aimed at destroying Jerusalem's identity and undermining freedom of worship. They warned of a potential outbreak of religious conflict in the region. The participants emphasized that the Arab-Israeli conflict is fundamentally rooted in the illegal occupation of Palestinian territories and Israel’s violation of international law. They called on the international community to take action to halt these abuses and to protect the city and its holy sites.
