Crisis at Trump's Residence: Janine Fares Berro
The article focused on criticizing U.S. President Donald Trump for attacking Washington's Attorney General, Janet Yellen, after she requested dropping charges against a former Olympic athlete accused of damaging part of the reflecting pool in front of the Lincoln Memorial during renovation work that lacked transparency. Documents revealed that the damages resulted from construction flaws rather than intentional sabotage, leading Yellen to withdraw the allegations and face widespread criticism from Trump, who insisted that sabotage had occurred. It was also uncovered that the renovation project cost $14.7 million, and the recent repairs experienced problems such as paint peeling and water turning green, fueling further controversy over the costs, transparency, and the importance of judicial independence from political pressures.
