Hamas awaits Maladinoff’s reply on ceasefire phase two
Hamas has confirmed that it is awaiting an official response from Nikolay Mladenov, the senior envoy for Gaza, regarding the roadmap to implement the second phase of the ceasefire agreement in the territory. This waiting comes amid reports of consensus with mediators regarding the second phase, while Israel is being held responsible for ongoing crimes and deliberate obstruction of the agreement. Despite progress in the negotiations, clashes continue to escalate, with Israeli forces continuing to bombard areas, resulting in the deaths and injuries of dozens of Palestinians. Additionally, the death toll since the ceasefire began in October 2023 has risen to over 73,000 killed and more than 174,000 injured, according to Gaza's Ministry of Health.
