Unidentified persons revive Ceuta crossing attempt
Calls continue across social media platforms to organize a mass crossing attempt toward occupied Ceuta, with some posts setting August 15th as the date for action, aiming at an illegal migration into Spain. These calls come amid repeated previous attempts and the Moroccan authorities' failure to recognize the risks involved, often exploited by human trafficking networks and misinformation targeting those wishing to migrate. On the other hand, the Spanish police have begun classifying the migrants in the city, whose number is estimated at around 2,500 people, and are implementing individual procedures to ensure the legal rights of all.
