Saudi Arabia opposes Jerusalem status change
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has firmly rejected any attempts to alter the legal and historical status of the city of Jerusalem or to undermine its Islamic and Christian identity. It called on the international community to take action to stop Israeli violations in Gaza and the West Bank, to protect sacred sites, and to support the resilience of the Palestinian people. The Saudi Foreign Minister affirmed that East Jerusalem is the capital of Palestine and emphasized that unilateral measures such as settlement expansion and land confiscation are invalid. Protecting Jerusalem is essential to achieving a just and lasting peace in the region. Additionally, Saudi Arabia condemned the ongoing Israeli escalation in Gaza and denounced attempts to justify violence based on religious claims. It called for international action to hold those inciting hatred accountable, promote coexistence, and pursue a fair political solution based on the two-state approach.
