Washington's visa revocation stance not labeled irresponsible
Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva described the United States' decision to revoke the visa of Brazil's ambassador in Washington as "irresponsible" and unthoughtful, emphasizing that it is unworthy of their long-standing diplomatic relationship, which spans over two centuries. He also stated that Brazil will not accept new ambassadors before the upcoming general elections in October, considering that Washington has shown insufficient interest in filling its ambassadorial position in Brazil, leaving the diplomatic mission without a head for more than a year and a half. Lula rejected the American justifications for the visa revocation, affirming that his country operates on the principle of mutual respect, and underscored the importance of respecting the relations between the two nations.
