UN: Israeli raids impact Gaza civilians
The United Nations has confirmed that Israeli military operations in the Gaza Strip significantly hinder civilian life, causing the destruction of shelter facilities and increasing displacement. It emphasized the need to allow the entry of vital materials such as timber, tools, and solar energy supplies to enhance aid efforts and restore damaged shelters. The UN also expressed concern over recent Israeli airstrikes that resulted in civilian casualties and the destruction of medical supplies and infrastructure, calling for the protection of civilian facilities and the facilitation of humanitarian operations in accordance with international law. In the meantime, relief teams have improved the conditions of around 3,000 shelter centers, distributed basic supplies to 9,000 families, and supported education through summer activities and the provision of school and recreational supplies in preparation for the new school year.
