US Acts on Ebola Response
The U.S. Department of State announced that the Trump administration intends to allocate an additional $242 million to fight the Ebola outbreak in Africa. This funding aims to support emergency response efforts, strengthen regional preparedness, and provide humanitarian assistance. This allocation, which is subject to consultations with Congress, comes in response to commitments made during the G7 summit in June. The goal is to increase total U.S. aid for Ebola response to more than $512 million. Ebola is a highly contagious viral disease that often causes fatalities and spreads through direct contact with the fluids of infected individuals.
