Homeowner Seeks US Help Over West Bank Settlement Siege
Palestinian-American citizen Luay Abu Reida has called on the United States to intervene to end the siege of his home in the village of Qusra south of Nablus, which has been imposed by Israeli settlers for more than a week. The settlers have surrounded the homes and cut off food supplies to the residents. Although the Israeli army issued a command to remove the settlers following the escalation of hostilities, they continue to stay near the house, as violence in the area intensifies since Hamas's attack in October 2023. Abu Reida urged the international community, especially the U.S. embassy, to highlight these violations, which he described as terrorist activity. Video clips show settlers passing in front of the house freely, while Israeli forces ignore these assertive behaviors. Tensions are escalating in the West Bank, considered part of the areas occupied by Israel since 1967, amid Israeli government support for settlers and a siege threatening the security of the Palestinian residents.
