Alibaba's recent reports have focused on the growth of its investments in artificial intelligence and cloud computing, with revenues from cloud services and AI rising by 45% to approximately $7.2 billion during the quarter ending in June. Despite this growth, the hefty investment bill has put significant pressure on the company's profits, with net profit declining by 75% to around $1.54 billion, and capital expenditure increasing by 75% to 67.68 billion yuan. The company continues to invest hundreds of billions in developing AI and cloud infrastructure to strengthen its position as the largest cloud services provider in China, although this has led to higher costs and a negative impact on current profits.
