A report by The Washington Post revealed that the U.S. Department of Defense has withdrawn dozens of classified documents related to the "Defense Secretary's Order Book" from an internal system used by military personnel. This follows the publication of a report showing senior commanders' concerns about the ongoing war with Iran and its impact on the readiness of American forces. This move is part of increased measures to prevent information leaks, especially after the Trump administration implemented strict procedures, including lie detector tests and confiscation of journalists' devices. The order book contains sensitive information about troop locations and weapons, and also allows commanders to record objections to orders via an "Non-Approval" system. The report has raised growing concerns about the draining of military resources and the risks of disrupting operational decision-making due to restricted access to critical information amidst the ongoing war with Iran, now in its seventh month.
