Al-Sharq Al-Awsat reports on Hamas official kidnapping
Sources from Hamas revealed that Israel carried out a special operation in the heart of the Gaza Strip aimed at kidnapping a prominent security official within the movement, Mounir Al-Arabid, last Tuesday. The operation involved a specialized Israeli force and deception tactics carried out by Palestinian elements working for Shin Bet (Israel's internal security agency). The operation resulted in the death of his wife, injury to his children, battles, and the detention of several suspects. There are ongoing efforts to uncover the network of cooperation and communication that aided Israel in executing the operation. Investigations indicate that the operation was planned over a month and involved the use of Palestinian operatives within a complex scheme, leading to injuries and arrests, as part of Israel's escalation efforts to target or abduct security figures in Gaza.
