Rfilel's EPL move fails, Barcelona suffers
The transfer of Moroccan striker Abdessamad Zeljouli from Real Betis to Everton Football Club failed at the last moment of the summer transfer window for the 2026-2027 season. Everton’s management had offered 43 million euros to sign the 24-year-old player, but Betis refused to part with him due to the technical staff’s insistence on keeping him and the Andalusian club’s firm stance on the 60 million euro release clause. This refusal resulted in Everton missing out on the opportunity to strengthen their attack at a critical time, and Barcelona, which owns 20% of the financial rights from the transfer, was financially impacted.
