The article addresses the military escalation between Israel and Lebanon, where Israel carried out airstrikes and shelling in southern Lebanon, resulting in the deaths of five people and injuries to dozens, targeting homes and the outskirts of villages. In response, Hezbollah announced that ongoing Israeli attacks threaten the negotiation process and Lebanon's sovereignty, and accused the United States of providing cover for the aggression. Despite Lebanon and Israel signing a framework agreement under American auspices, which calls for a gradual withdrawal of Israel from southern Lebanon, the military escalation has continued since March 2026, causing the deaths of more than 4,000 Lebanese and injuring over 12,000, with more than a million displaced. A new round of negotiations is expected to be held in Italy in September, after the previous round failed to expand the areas of Israeli withdrawal.
