Syrian Engineer Revives Historic Watches
Syrian engineer Ahmad Anis dedicates years of his life to restoring historic clocks such as the Bab al-Faraj clock in Aleppo and the Hijaz Station clock in Damascus, with the goal of preserving their mechanical systems. He began learning the profession as a child, and his expertise has evolved into a specialization in the maintenance and restoration of large, historic clocks. Currently, he is working on a project to install the "Flowers" clock in Aleppo's park, aiming to make it a new landmark for the city, after the old clock, installed in the 1980s, ceased operation due to mounting installation issues.
