The article discusses the results of the Saxony-Anhalt state elections in Germany, where the Alternative for Germany (AfD) party achieved significant progress with a vote share of 44.5%, more than doubling its result in 2021. This percentage exceeds the conservative parties by over 20 percentage points. This victory threatens the formation of a local government led by the party and raises international concerns about the rise of the far right in Europe, especially given the party’s pro-Moscow stance and opposition to Ukraine. It reflects profound changes in the German political landscape and their implications for European security and Russian relations.
