Controversy Over Funds and Ads Before November
Reports have circulated that two Democratic deputies are calling for an independent investigation into television advertisements funded by taxpayers' money, featuring images of former U.S. President Donald Trump and promoting him ahead of the November Congressional elections. Evidence suggests that these ads closely resemble Trump’s 2024 campaign commercials, employing similar promotional techniques and delivering encouraging messages in support of him, despite the government's assertion that they are state-sponsored and do not promote a specific candidate. These advertisements have sparked debate over the use of public funds for political campaigning, with accusations that they may violate restrictions on government political activities. Earlier, the organization "Public Citizen" filed a complaint requesting an investigation into the legality of using tax dollars to produce these pro-Trump ads, which are presented in the context of promoting national policies and depicting a positive image of America.
