Next week, an emergency meeting of the Political and Strategic Defense Committee will be held in Riyadh under the Makkah Convention for Collective Defense, signed between Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, and Turkey. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia and ways to address them. The gathering will also include a political stance regarding the Houthis as an alternative to military action, based on an Iranian proposal, amid consultations among the foreign ministers of the three countries. It is worth mentioning that more than six countries have expressed interest in joining the agreement, but the activation process may take up to a year. Additionally, the three nations have agreed that any armed attack on one of them is considered an attack on all. The Pakistani military also condemned the Houthi attacks, reaffirming solidarity with Saudi Arabia and its commitment to the security of the Holy Islamic sites.
