Hegseth Calls for Fit, Beardless Soldiers
U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin unveiled his vision for implementing changes within the military, including removing individuals who do not meet the criteria of the ideal soldier—such as obese individuals, those who exhibit gender transition characteristics, and extremists—aiming to focus solely on fighters. He announced plans to reduce the percentage of leadership roles among military personnel by 20% and to establish a new AI and robotics command called "AutoWarCom" to accelerate the integration of cutting-edge technology into the forces. Additionally, he revealed a 120-day research project in collaboration with Elon Musk to study the future forms of warfare and the necessary technologies, with the findings to be submitted to the Pentagon by early 2027.
