Morocco's First Inclusive University Before World Cup
The article highlights the launch of a new educational model in Morocco that integrates deaf and hard-of-hearing students into university institutions, aiming to enhance professional and social inclusion. The university comprises four main schools offering specializations in audiology, communication, languages and sign languages, technology, and crafts, with free study pathways up to the master's degree. It relies on international partnerships with institutes in Paris, Chicago, Leuven, and Montpellier to ensure the highest standards of research and training in hearing treatment, cochlear implantation, and audiological services. The university also features advanced laboratories to support research and innovation, with the goal of training qualified professionals to face the challenges of hosting major international events like the 2030 FIFA World Cup, by preparing specialized staff in reception and communication with deaf and hard-of-hearing audiences.
