Gaza Faces Rising Malnutrition Deaths
Malnutrition and starvation in Gaza have caused a catastrophic death rate since 2024, with the Ministry recording 466 deaths, including 158 children and 189 elderly people, due to a lack of food and aid. It has reported that more than 1.4 million residents (67% of the population) are facing crisis-level food insecurity through the end of 2026, with infant mortality rates increasing and stunting cases reaching 12.2%. The Ministry also noted an increase in anemia among pregnant women to 61 percent. Food is a human right, and the international community is urged to act quickly to provide food and medicine.
