Saudi-Egypt Military Ties Over Time
The article discusses the history and development of military cooperation between Saudi Arabia and Egypt. This cooperation includes joint training exercises, knowledge exchange, and participation in large-scale military operations and drills such as "Murjan," "Gulf Shield," and "Majesty of the Eagle." The roots of this collaboration date back to the Palestine War of 1948, passing through agreements and support provided by Egypt during the Tripartite Aggression and the October War, in addition to the participation of Saudi forces in operations on the Syrian front. This partnership was culminated in the signing of the "Cairo Declaration" in 2015, which focused on strengthening pan-Arab cooperation and developing the Arab joint force. Currently, the cooperation also involves Egypt’s participation in defense exhibitions, attendance at the inauguration of military bases, and the execution of joint naval and air exercises involving Saudi, Egyptian, and other forces, all aimed at enhancing military coordination between the two countries.
