Road closures worsen residents' plight in Taiz
The closure of roads in Taiz Governorate, Yemen, worsens the suffering of residents and increases economic and security hardships. The ongoing conflict has led to the closure of many main roads, including the route between Taiz and Aden, resulting in higher transportation costs and difficulties accessing basic services such as water, medicine, and food supplies. Military forces, particularly the operations carried out by the Houthis, are the main cause of restricting residents' movement, with vital roads being closed for weeks, further intensifying the hardships faced by city families and threatening the security and safety of millions of people. The situation reflects increasing burdens on families, accompanied by international calls to reopen roads and lift the siege to enable the flow of aid and alleviate the humanitarian crisis.
