OIC Names Riyadh as Cybersecurity Council Hub
The Organization of Islamic Cooperation's Council of Foreign Ministers, in its 51st session, approved the establishment of the first ministerial council dedicated to cybersecurity in Riyadh. The goal is to enhance cybersecurity protection within member states and safeguard their vital interests and national security. The council will be responsible for coordinating cybersecurity-related topics and will include the relevant authorities from member countries. Its aim is to keep pace with the increasing cyber threats that threaten sensitive infrastructure and national interests. This decision comes in line with Saudi Arabia's extensive record of international initiatives to promote stability in cyberspace, and the choice of Riyadh as the council's headquarters reflects international confidence in Saudi leadership in the field of cybersecurity.
