Real Madrid resumes Ballon d'Or talks for Mbappé
Real Madrid has resumed efforts to support its candidates for the Ballon d'Or after two years of boycott and tension. This includes backing Kylian Mbappé, Vinicius Junior, and Bellingham, with a particular focus on Mbappé's chances following a standout scoring season. This comes after the 2024 controversy when the club refused to attend the award ceremony in protest of Rodri's victory, and its reserved stance continued the following year. However, its relationship with the award was revitalized during the 2026 edition. Despite the club's support for its nominees, this does not necessarily mean it will attend the award ceremony scheduled in London on October 26, as its stance on attendance remains uncertain.
