Greece reviews US intel on Iran links
The Greek Ministry of Finance stated that it is assessing the information provided by the U.S. government regarding a law firm accused of assisting Iranian shipping networks, as part of efforts to combat money laundering and terrorism financing. This comes after the U.S. Department of the Treasury imposed sanctions on a Greek law firm operating in Greece and Panama, for providing legal assistance over the years to Iranian shipping networks involved in investigations. Greece is also conducting an investigation into an undisclosed Greek bank to examine its potential connections with Iranian networks, and appropriate measures are being taken in accordance with domestic and European laws.
