Egyptian FA explains removing stars from 2026 jersey
The Egyptian Football Association confirmed that FIFA requested not to display the stars on the national team's jersey during the World Cup, and that the color of the numbers was changed to white for better visibility. The jersey features seven stars representing Egypt's seven wins in the Africa Cup of Nations. It was expected that these stars would be removed before Egypt's match against Belgium. The association clarified that they were aware of this since March, and that the team is prepared according to the new instructions.
