Trump sets signing date for US-Iran deal
U.S. President Donald Trump announced that the United States and Iran will sign an agreement on Sunday, June 14, after which the Strait of Hormuz will be opened. He confirmed that Iran would not receive any money under the agreement and that Washington will proceed to destroy Iran's buried nuclear dust. Additionally, the Mehr News Agency revealed a Qatari offer valued at 12 billion dollars, which includes the release of 6 billion dollars of Iranian frozen assets and a similar line of credit. An Iranian official stated that a "memorandum of understanding" rather than a "deal" will be signed tomorrow, with a focus on ending the war in Lebanon. Iranian judiciary officials reported that Khamenei has issued a pardon for 139 prisoners sentenced to death. Pakistan and Egypt discussed continuing Iranian-American negotiations, while Iran continues its efforts to isolate its stockpile of highly enriched uranium in preparation for an American operation.
