The European Union announced the resumption of Ukraine's accession talks after Hungary lifted the veto that was blocking progress on the file, allowing the start of the first phase of accession negotiations, which includes topics such as the rule of law and minority rights. This development followed a change in the Hungarian government and an agreement with Kyiv regarding the rights of the Hungarian minority, leading to a shift towards a genuine negotiating process and increasing Ukraine's prospects of joining the European Union.
