The Egyptian Public Prosecution has decided to refer businessman Sabry Nakhnokh and ten other defendants to the Criminal Court on charges of hooliganism, robbery with threats, assault and beating, in addition to displays of strength and abuse of communication devices. Nakhnokh had previously been arrested during a search of his home, where quantities of firearms, ammunition, and unauthorized communication devices were found. He is suspected of forming a gang involved in exerting control through the use of force, and he has been held in preventive detention. The case has been widely covered by the media and social networks, with the seizure of the assets of the accused and his companions being among the most prominent measures taken.
