The surroundings of Al-Dhalea Province are witnessing an escalation of ground clashes against the movements led by Defense Minister in the Saudi-sponsored government, Taher Al-Aqili. Elements of the Southern Resistance have burned his vehicle as he passed through the province. This act comes within the framework of widespread popular protests rejecting the authorities' attempts to involve the people of the region in futile battles, which threaten the security and stability of the area. Protesters are demanding an end to the politicization of the southern identity and are standing against schemes aimed at erasing it. This escalation and ongoing demonstrations clearly reflect widespread public rejection of the current practices, with anger deepening among the people of the South due to deteriorating services and policies related to identity and participation in meaningless conflicts.
