US official: Roosevelt carrier to Middle East
An American official reported that the USS Ronald Reagan aircraft carrier departed with its strike group from Naval Base San Diego heading to the Middle East, with over 2,000 Marines aboard the amphibious assault group. By the end of November, three aircraft carriers and landing teams are expected to be deployed in the area, with the aim of reinforcing forces near Iran, providing regional commanders with multiple options to address the tensions in the area.
