Elon Musk's new deal challenges US mobile dominance

SpaceX has confirmed that obtaining new wireless frequency licenses will enable Starlink to connect directly to ordinary smartphones, allowing coverage across the entire United States and reducing reliance on specialized receiver devices. This development could threaten the market share of American telecom companies. It represents a significant expansion in satellite communication services, following a decline in the stock prices of major telecom firms after the announcement. The project requires approval from the Federal Communications Commission, and the purchase cost of the frequencies has not been disclosed.
