Albania protests escalate over Edi Rama

Albania continues to witness protests for the fourth consecutive week, with demands from students and opposition groups escalating against the government over corruption and neglect of education. Prime Minister Edi Rama refuses to resign, insisting that change can only be achieved through elections. The protests, which initially called for better educational conditions, have escalated into riots in several cities, including damage to public property and widespread demonstrations. Police have used tear gas and water cannons to disperse the protesters, resulting in the detention of over 120 individuals. Protesters are calling for Edi Rama to be prosecuted on corruption charges and are carrying banners demanding a comprehensive political change, amid growing support from segments of the public for their cause.
