Israeli forces move into town near Lebanese Army
Israeli forces have infiltrated and established a dirt barrier in the town of Zoatr al-Gharbi in Lebanon, an area under the control of the Lebanese Army according to a framework agreement signed between Lebanon and Israel in June. The treaty aims to disarm Hezbollah and facilitate Israel's gradual withdrawal from southern Lebanon. This incursion comes after the Israeli army announced that it was unaware of the incident, despite Lebanese sources confirming the construction of the dirt barrier near the town, which constitutes a breach of the agreement. Currently, new negotiations are underway between Lebanon and Israel in Rome, where Israel refused to specify new areas for its troop withdrawals, insisting instead on the complete verification of Lebanese Army control over the regions where its forces are deployed.
