International team completes 100-day space isolation study
The isolation study "Solis 100," which lasted 100 days at a facility at the German Aerospace Center in Cologne, tested the effects of long-duration space missions on health and performance. Six men and women from six different countries participated, isolating themselves in a confined environment with limited resources and no direct contact with the outside world, to simulate conditions of trips to the Moon and Mars. The goal was to assess the psychological and physical impacts on the participants and to collect data to support astronauts in future missions, with a focus on enhancing preventive measures and psychological support. This study is part of efforts to prepare astronauts for the psychological and physical challenges they may face in upcoming missions.
