Burnham's remarks spark reactions
Andy Burnham has become the UK's prime minister without campaigning on specific manifesto promises. His recent actions demonstrate a reluctance to commit firmly to policies, leading to accusations of U-turns on issues like income tax thresholds, rent freezes, and prison release reviews. His open, conversational communication style, established during his time as Greater Manchester mayor, aims to foster trust but also raises concerns about potential misunderstandings and consistency in policy.
