The article concerns the Iraqi government and the Kurdistan Region reaching an agreement on implementing the global "Asycuda" customs system and fairly sharing customs revenues. It was decided that revenue from border crossings will be distributed equally, with 50% for Baghdad and 50% for Erbil. Additionally, the removal of illegal checkpoints between cities and provinces is necessary. The regional Interior Minister also noted that the system's implementation is overseen directly by the Regional Prime Minister, and ongoing discussions are taking place with the army and international companies to ensure the security of oil fields and protect them from threats, which may include deploying air defense systems. These developments reflect efforts to strengthen economic and security cooperation between Baghdad and the Region and to prepare for security challenges related to oil resources.
