Teachers' Union Urges Respect for Rights
The teachers' union in Lebanon announced that they hold the Ministry of Finance responsible for the failure to disburse the 200 billion lira grant to the Compensation Fund. They demanded its immediate release and transfer without delay. They also emphasized the necessity of including the remaining 450 billion lira amount in the 2027 budget to ensure its payment, stressing the state's responsibility to protect the rights of teachers and retirees and to avoid postponement. Additionally, they called for a schedule for the urgent disbursement of the grant, reaffirmed their commitment to including the amount in next year's budget, and pledged to continue following up on the matter until full implementation.
